9. CONFIGURATIONS
9.1. Concept of Installation for PS-011
Using the programmer it is possible to save and load confi gurations from one installation in order to
re-use these same parameters in another installation.
The PS-011 Programmer does not distinguish between installations with a single module and installations
with several modules. Rather, when it generates a confi guration, it saves the confi guration of each device
belonging to that installation in the same fi le. Thus, it can handle installations with a single module as well
as installations with various devices without needing to change the internal structure of the confi guration
fi les.
Installation of 1 module in 1 rack
It is the user who must identify each of the devices for his own convenience since only the device model
will be shown in the confi guration. It is recommended that a defi nite order and structure be respected, for
example by generating a .cfi confi guration fi le for each of the devices. In this way, in an installation with
two devices consisting of several modules each, each module can be identifi ed numerically so that there
is no confusion between each confi guration of each module and device.
9.2. How to Save the Confi gurations
The PS-011 programmer offers the possibility of saving the confi guration of both individual devices
and complex installations. Saved confi gurations can subsequently be used to program either modules
whose parameters are very similar (in the same installation, for example, when only a value such as the
input or output channel changes) or installations where it is desired to replicate exactly some previous
installation.
When generating a confi guration fi le, it is not necessary to indicate at the outset the type or the number
of modules which are going to be used in the installation. Rather, modules will be added to the installation
as they are programmed.
