I
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Keep the spa covered at all times when not in use. In this
way, along with keeping the water from getting dirty, you will
also avoid heat loss and evaporation.
CAUTION
The cover is not designed to support weights. Do
not stand, sit or lie on the cover, and do not set ob-
jects on it.
Periodically clean the hydromassage and suction intakes.
CAUTION
After cleaning, immediately put the grilles of
the aspiration nozzles back in place. These safe-
ty devices must cover the suction intake in or-
der to reduce the risk of hair or other body parts
getting caught. The intakes must be cleaned
with the bath empty. Remember to refit all the
parts before re-filling the spa.
The suction intake grilles must be checked at least once
a week.
The cushions are provided with clips and can be easily re-
moved for cleaning.
Regularly clean the cushions using a cloth, soap and water.
You are advised to use protective products to increase water re-
sistance and maintain their shiny appearance.
I MAINTENANCE OF WOOD PARTS
The covering panels and the accessories of Jacuzzi® spas are
made of natural wood treated with advanced products which
enhance the natural beauty and ensure protection against at-
mospheric agents.
The panels and accessories first receive a coat of stain, to
give the wood an even shade. Then two coats of synthetic oil
are applied, which give the piece a natural and particularly
warm appearance.
Cleaning
Maintenance varies according to the location of the spa and/or
accessories (sheltered from or exposed to the elements).
In any case, you should periodically wash the surfaces with fresh
water and neutral detergent. Then rinse.
Do not use detergents that contain alcohol, scale-removal sub-
stances, ammonia, abrasive products or bleach.
Do not use wax or polish.
Renewal
At least once a year (or less, depending on the conditions the
wood surfaces are exposed to), do the following:
- Lightly sand the surface with an abrasive sponge (or sandpaper,
grain 320). Do not press too hard, especially near protruding parts
(corners and so on).
- Remove all dust. Use a soft-bristled brush to apply a layer of synthetic
oil, first crosswise and then along the entire height of the panel.
Do not work in direct sunlight, nor if the temperature is especially
cold.
- If necessary, remove any excess oil using a microfiber cloth. Let
dry for about an hour (at 20°C).
Note: tools can be washed with turpentine for subsequent reuse.
Special maintenance
If more extensive restoration is require (for example, if the
protective layer has been damaged in depth), you should thor-
oughly sand the entre surface all the way down to the bare
wood. Apply a coat of stain if there are marked differences in
shades.
Then apply two to three coats of synthetic oil as necessary, fol-
lowing the same method described for the renewal phase.
Note: make sure that, between one coat and the nest, the
product has dried completely. This normally takes 1 to 2 hours
at an ambient temperature of about 20 °C).
For all special maintenance, it is advisable to contact specialized
personnel.
ATTENTION: sanding residue, tools and rags used to
apply the product may self-ignite if exposed to the air.
Keep the recipients (immerged in water) in tightly
closed metallic containers and dispose of them imme-
diately. Comply with current applicable regulations.
I
MAINTENANCE OF CARTRIDGE FILTER
The filter (two in the Kios Friendly) in the skimmer must be
periodically cleaned, according to the amount of use the s-
pa is subject to, and replaced when necessary, when they
show signs of deterioration.
The cartridges are available from Jacuzzi
ers and Service Centres.
Check the skimmer at least once a week to remove any
sediment such as leaves, hair, etc.
Check the filter periodically. With normal use of the spa, it
is advisable to clean the filter at least once a week. If nec-
essary, the filter should be cleaned, because a clogged filter
cannot keep the water clean and also prevents proper sys-
tem operation.
