Maintenance
The solar storage tank warranty is void if the magnesium
anodes are not maintained properly.
Visual inspection of the magnesium anodes
B Shut off the cold water inlet.
B Ensure that there is no pressure in the storage tank by opening the air
bleeder valve.
B Loosen the 6 hex bolts [1] and remove the inspection cover [2].
B Remove the soft foam insulation.
B Undo the 8 hex bolts [3] and pull out the flange with the magnesium
anodes [4].
Never bring the magnesium anode surface into contact
with oil or grease.
B Keep everything clean.
B Check the magnesium anode for decomposition.
B Replace the magnesium anode rod if its diameter has been reduced to
about 1/2" (12 mm) (

B Remove the 2 hex nuts [1].
B Remove serrated washer [2], washer [3] and gasket [4].
B Replace magnesium anode [5] and screw onto flange using a torque
of 6 lbf-ft (8Nm).

Only use genuine spare parts.
B Insert new gasket (
B Install flange in the solar storage tank using 8 hex bolts (hand tight).
B Then use a torque wrench to tighten the hex bolts (diagonally) to 18.5

B Check the tightness of the magnesium anode connection.
B Replace the soft foam installation and reinstall the clean out cover.

Restarting the solar storage tank after maintenance
NOTICE: Risk of damage in the event of a defective
gasket!
B To prevent the solar storage tank from leaking, install
a new gasket on the flange after cleaning and
maintenance.
