4. Protective functions
The heat exchanger's anti-freeze protection
The heat exchanger is equipped with anti-
freezing protection. When cold weather in-
volves risk that the heat exchanger will freeze,
the controller decreases the speed of the
supply air. The protective device resets itself
automatically when the temperature rises.
Electric air heater
The electric air heaters have two overheating
protections, the one resets itself automatically
and the other must be reset manually.
An automatic thermal overload cutout switches
off the air heater if a malfunctional situation
arises. The cutout resets itself automatically
when the air heater has cooled down.
The thermal overload cutout with manual
reset can be reset by pressing a button inside
the ventilation unit. The location of the button
is marked by a ring in the illustrations to the
right. When you press the reset button and
feel it click, the thermal overload cutout has
then been reset.
The ECO model's water-heated air heater
On the ECO models there is a temperature
sensor that protects the waterborne air heater
from freezing. If the air heater's temperature
has dropped to a risky level, the red signal
lamp on the control panel will flash, but the
ventilation unit will operate normally.
EN
If the air heater's temperature has dropped to
a risky level, the red signal lamp on the control
panel will flash and the warning text "Risk
for freezing!" will be displayed on the display
screen. The ventilation unit however continues
to operate normally.
The fans' thermal overload cutouts
The fans have thermal overload cutouts,
which stop them if the temperature rises too
high. The controller also stops the fans if a
serious malfunction occurs in the ventila-
tion unit. The protective function resets itself
automatically when the temperature drops or
the malfunction has been remedied.
