1. Operating instructions
1.1 Description of unit
The boiling water unit with automatic switch-
off is used for the preparation of hot and
boiling water for domestic and similar kind of
use.
The unit is filled with a maximum of 5 litres
of water, via the tap fitting. The desired hot
water temperature can be adjusted from
approximately 35 °C to 100 °C (boiling
point). Heating up is indicated by the indica-
tor light. When the temperature is reached,
the unit switches off. The hot water is drawn
off via the tap fitting.
1.2 The most important
things in brief
Operation
1. Fill the unit with water, from 0.5
litres (cup symbol) up to a maximum
of 5 litres, via the tap fitting (1).
2. Select temperature (6)
warm
warm to hot (simmer)
hot (simmer) to cooking
last detent = cooking
During same attitude, different
switching off temperatures are
possible (dependent on amount of
filling, calcifying, remainder warmth).
3. Switch the unit on by pressing the
thermostat knob (6).
When the selected temperature is
reached, the unit switches itself off.
The indicator light goes out. The
heating process can be terminated by
turning the temperature selector
knob anti-clockwise. Immediate
reboiling is possible by keeping the
thermostat knob depressed.
OFF
4. Draw off hot water via the tap fitting
(3).

1.3 Safety instructions
• Steam is emitted from the over-
flow/steam pipe during boiling.
• Keep children and the disabled (physical/
mental) away from this unit and the tap
fitting unless they are supervised by a
person responsible for their safety or
have been given instructions on how to
use it.
Danger of scalding!
• Boiling water can spill out if the unit is
overfilled.
• Do not open the cover during heating up.
• The overflow/steam pipe must not be
blocked off or extended.
• If hot water needs to be drawn off dur-
ing the heating up period, at least 0.5
litres (see cup symbol) must remain in
the unit until it switches off, or the ther-
mostat knob must be switched to the
(OFF) position.

1.5 Descaling
Almost all water forms scale at high tempera-
tures. It is therefore necessary to descale the
boiling water unit from time to time.
• Use environmentally compatible
descaling agents based on formic acid
(e.g. Cillit lime dissolver).
• Heavily foaming descaling agents based
on amidosulphuric acid lead to overflow
of the unit and endanger the user.
• Do not boil water when descaling.
C
Descaling
:
1. Open the cover.
2. Add water and descaler in the prescribed
dosage (see guidance on descaling agents)
and close the cover.
3. Rotate the thermostat knob to the
descaling setting, switch on the unit (press
the thermostat knob), allow the descaling
agent to react, and if necessary heat up
the unit again.
4. Drain the water, rinse thoroughly with
water several times, bring 5 litres of water
to the boil, and drain off once again.
1.6 Maintenance and care
Maintenance work, such as for ex-
ample checking the electrical safety,
may only be carried out by a qualified
installer.
A moist cloth is sufficient for care of the
casing. Do not use any abrasive or corrosive
cleaning agents.
The glass container of the unit can be
cleaned from within if required.
– Disconnect the unit from the power sup-
ply (e.g. switch off at spur point).
– Open the cover (9).
– Clean the container and the discmatic
disc-type heating element; do not use
sharp objects.
– Close the cover and switch on at spur.
1.7 Operating and
installation instructions
Keep these instructions carefully and
pass them on to your successor in
the event of a change of ownership.
In the event of any maintenance work,
these instructions should be passed to the
qualified installer for his attention.
