6. Bus interface module (10-840)
6.1. DESCRIPTION
The bus interface module is designed for flush mounting and is provided with 2 inputs. Via
these inputs, 2 push buttons/switches can each send 2 control functions on the Niko Access
Control bus (depending on the position: open/closed). The bus interface can control the
external relays 10-837 and 10-830.
6.2. INSTALLATION
The bus interface module is designed for flush mounting
and has 5 pairs of plug-in terminals that simplify wiring.
To each terminal, 2 wires can be connected. The wire can
have a diameter of max. 0,8mm. In order to insert the wire
into the terminals, it must be stripped over a length of 5
to 6mm. The relay is directly connected to the bus. In case
of a 2-wire connection, only a and b are connected. If over 10 bus interfaces are connected,
a 3-wire connection is required. In this case, a, b and P must be connected and the relay
jumper must be removed (fig.8). The inputs are connected to terminals M and P. The push
button/switch for interface 1 is connected via terminals M1 and P. The push button/switch for
interface 2 is connected via terminals M2 and P. The connection wires have a max. length of
2m. It is recommended to connect the push button/switch as opener on both interface inputs.
This way, the current consumption is low and an optimum operation of the installation can
be guaranteed. The relay can be connected to the Nikobus home automation system via the
outputs (see technical catalogue Niko Access Control).
6.3. OPERATION AND USE
The bus interface module is provided with 2 inputs with fixed interface functions for open-
ing and closing. The bus interface can control the external relays 10-837 and 10-830. If
the push button/switch at the bus interface input is activated, the following commands are
sent on the bus:
Interface 1 (terminals M1 and P) OPEN to CLOSED: SerNr + control function 2
Interface 1 (terminals M1 and P) CLOSED to OPEN: SerNr + control function 1
Interface 2 (terminals M2 and P) OPEN to CLOSED: SerNr + control function 4
Interface 2 (terminals M2 and P) CLOSED to OPEN: SerNr + control function 3
In order to assign the relay output of the external relays 10-837 or 10-830 to one of these
control functions, the external relays 10-837 and 10-830 must be programmed as shown
on page 32.
