1.1 VENTING INSTRUCTIONS

APPROVED VENTING MATERIALS FROM OTHER MANUFACTURERS
When cascade venting the BAXI 1.70 or 1.110 condensing boilers be vented with the manufacturer's polypropylene venting
material. Failure to comply could result in personal injury, death or property damage and could void the boiler warranty. Installations
must comply with local code requirements and with U.S.ANSI Z223.1 in the United States and CSA B149.1 in Canada.
WARNING
All venting must be properly supported. The boilers are not intended to support any type of vent system whatsoever.
All vent pipe and combustion air pipe and fittings must comply with the following:
Materials used in the U.S. must comply with the following relevant standards: ANSI/ASTM D1785, ANSI/ASTMD2661, ANSI/
ASTM F441.
• Examine all components for possible shipping damage, prior to installation.
• This venting system must be free to expand and contract.
• The venting system must be supported in accordance with these instructions.
• The vent system must have unrestricted movement through walls, ceilings and roof penetrations.
• Check for proper joint construction when joining pipe to fittings.
• If the vent is penetrating ceilings and floors, the openings must have a means of firestopping in joist areas and proper firestop
spacer assemblies installed.
• A Baxi roof flashing is available as an accessory. Standard roof flashing methods must be employed to install the roof flashing.
• Wall and roof openings must be framed to provide support and the attachment of termination assemblies.
Please Note:
The manual uses the terms 'vent' , 'venting' and 'flue' interchangeably. All references to 'flue' are synonymous with 'vent' or
'venting'.
WARNING
• Check all measurements before cutting. The clearance to combustible materials is zero when using a concentric vent system.
• After installing the venting make sure that there is no recirculation of combustion by using a regularly calibrated analyzer.
• Ensure a minimum downward slope of 2 in / 50.00 mm for every 3 ft 4 in / 1.00 m of the flue length toward the boiler.
• Ensure that the termination is positioned with the slots at the bottom.
All venting must be supported every 3' 3 3/8" (1.00 m) using steel strapping or equivalent.
WARNING
