Operation test of the disassembled regulator
To check correct operation of the regulator, follow steps below:
a) Make the connection as indicated in the diagram of figure 13.
b) Apply an alternating voltage of 220Vac - 50Hz; the light bulb should
not switch on.
c) Turn the VG trimmer clockwise; the light bulb will start turning on.
The brightness should increase while turning the trimmer VG clockwise
d) When reaching its maximum brightness, the light bulb should turn OFF
then partially turn ON after a few seconds
If the conditions described above are satisfied, then the regulator works
properly.

8. PARALLEL DEVICE DP01

The DP01 device allows the parallel connection of same-type generators,
regulating the voltage of each generator to avoid re-circulation currents.
The installation of the DP01 should only be carried
out by qualified personnel following the instructions
listed below.
DP01 installation on PRO 18 and PRO 22
- Install the DP01 inside the terminal box using suitable screws.
- Disconnect the load cable n. 1 from the alternator main terminal
board and wind it around the DP01 Current Transformer core, with a
well-defined number of turns based on the generator output power
(see figure 15).
- Disconnect the cable from the HVR-11 terminal n. 5 and connect it to
the DP01 terminal n. 2; finally, connect the DP01 terminal n. 1 to the
HVR-11 terminal n. 5 (see figure 17).

- Install the DP01 inside the terminal box using suitable screws.
- Disconnect the load cable n. 1 from the alternator main terminal
board and wind it around the DP01 Current Transformer core, with a
well-defined number of turns based on the generator output power
(see figure 15).
- Disconnect the cable from the HVR-30 terminal n. 8 and connect it to the
DP01 terminal n. 2; finally, connect the DP01 terminal n. 1 to the HVR-30
terminal n. 8 (see figure 18 and figure 19).
The turns around the Current Transformer core should
be made exactly in the same direction as indicated
in figure 15.
Alternator operating in island mode
In case of an alternator not working in parallel, where a DP01 has been
installed, move wire from terminal n. 2 to terminal n. 1.

DP01 setting
The DP01 is factory pre-set with a 5% voltage drop at rated load and power
factor (cos φ) = 0.8.
During installation it may be necessary to make some small adjustments
turning the DR trimmer on the DP01 following the steps below:
- Start up the generating sets and do the paralleling.
- At no load conditions turn the DR trimmer until you read "0" on the
three ammeters A (see figure 16).
