5.3

TYRE PRESSURE

Adjust the tyre pressures according to the values
indicated in the "Technical Data" table provided for
the machine to which the accessory is hooked up.
5.4

BASIC ADJUSTMENT

Correct basic adjustment is needed to guarantee
optimum cutting-means assembly performance.
Basic cutting-means assembly adjustment invol-
ves setting the rear edge 5 mm higher than the
front edge.
This means that the cutting-means assembly is
tilted forward.
ENGLISH
Carry out basic adjustment by lifting and securing
the cutting-means assembly as follows:
For machines equipped with 17" wheels: position
the pegs or cotter pins (4:A) in the highest hole on
the pin (4:B).
For machines equipped with 16" wheels: position
the pegs or cotter pins (4:A) in the central hole on
the pin (4:B).
To adjust, proceed as follows:
1. Slightly lift the cutting-means assembly to
ease the load on the cotter pin or peg (4:A).
2. Remove the cotter pin or peg (4:A) and in-
sert it in one of the other holes. Perform this
adjustment on both cutting-means assembly
arms.
6 HANDLING THE CUTTING-
MEANS ASSEMBLY
To move or handle the cutting-means assembly,
make it run on its 4 wheels (26:A).
Carry out this operation after wearing
safety protection gloves.
The cutting deck assy features sharpe-
ned edges. To avoid dangerous cuts,
pay attention to where you put your
hands

7 USING THE ACCESSORY

Make sure the grass to be cut is com-
pletely free of foreign objects such as
stones etc.
7.1

CUTTING HEIGHT

For best results, cut off the top third of the grass.
See fig. 22.
If the grass is long and needs cutting back signifi-
cantly, cut twice using two different cutting heights.
Do not use the lowest cutting heights if the lawn
surface is uneven.
This would entail a risk of the cutting devices being
damaged against the surface and the lawn's top
layer of soil being removed.
7.2

TILT

The cutting deck assy's rear section can be lifted
so that the deck has a greater forward tilt than is
provided by the basic setting.
Tilt effects cutting results as follows.
