DEFROSTING
Microwaves are excellent for defrosting frozen dishes Microwaves ensure that frozen
dishes are gradually defrosted in a short time This can be a great advantage if you receive
unexpected guests Frozen poultry must be fully defrosted before cooking Remove any metal
strips and take the product out of the packaging to allow moisture to drain off Put the frozen
dish on a plate and do not cover it Turn it over halfway through and drain any moisture
Remove any organs as soon as possible Check the dish now and then to ensure that it does
not become too warm If smaller, thinner parts of the frozen dish become warm, you can
protect them by wrapping them in small pieces of aluminium foil If the poultry becomes warm
on the outside, press STOP/CANCEL and let it stand for 20 minutes before continuing Let
fish, meat and poultry stand to defrost further The standing time for full defrosting depends
on the amount of food you want to defrost Consult the table on the next page
Tip:
Flat dishes defrost faster than thick ones, and small quantities take less time
than larger ones Take this into consideration when you freeze the dish and
defrost it
