bond the L-544400 assembly to desired location directly on
thermoplastic layer. Take care to fill the center area for a bubble free
bond between plastic dummy and thermoplastic layer (Figure 9 & 10).
3. Tie reinforcement material in groove on socket adapter and do a
second tie between socket and adapter. Decide amount of
reinforcement according to conventional practices taking into account
user weight and activity level (Figure 11).
4. Apply PVA bag and impregnate laminate with conventional methods
(Figure 12).
5. Tie around lamination dummy with electrical tape to remove resin
distal to socket adapter. This will produce clean edge and minimize
finishing work (Figure 12).
6. Once resin has set, drill through housing dummy into cast using a
sharp 3mm drill bit. Take care to align drill with centerline (Figure 13).
Remove excess resin, PVA bag and plastic dummy.
7. Remove/Break plaster from inside of socket.
8. Insert and hand tighten Housing, there is one seal on each end of
Housing. Make sure smaller seal sits flat against bottom of hole
when inserting Housing (Figure 14), larger seal sits between Housing
and Valve Plate (Figure 15).
9. Complete assembly applying Loctite 243 to 4-hole screws and torque
to 10Nm, make sure threads are clean and provide full engagement of
screws without resistance. Use screws supplied with kit only.
A weatherproof device allows use in a wet and/or humid environment
but does not allow submersion. Fresh water splashing against the
enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect. Dry thoroughly
after contact with fresh water. Fresh water: Includes tap water. Excludes
salt and chlorinated water.
