long as the button TALK is pressed, the
amplifier will switch over to the zone output
selection made at the zone paging micro-
phone. The LED SIGNAL (49) will light up
when the chime or the announcement is
started. If a specific speech volume is
exceeded, the input signals at the amplifier
that have a lower priority will automatically be
muted (
table in figure 5, chapter 3).
4) If required, adjust the volume of the an -
nouncement using the control MIC (44).
8.7.1 Zone output group
A selection of frequently required zone outputs
can be saved and called up as a group:
1) Use the buttons SPEAKER ZONES SELEC-
TOR 1 – 10 / 20 (48) to select the zones that
are to be included in the group.
2) Keep the button RECALL (47) pressed until
the LED POWER (49) starts flashing.
Release the button when the LED stops
flashing. The group is now saved.
3) To call up the saved group, briefly press the
button RECALL.
4) To return to the selection that was valid
before the group was called up, briefly press
the button RECALL again.
8.7.2 Further settings at the PA-2500RC
The DIP switch panel (42) located on the rear
side of the zone paging microphone provides the
following options:
PRIORITY – in the position ON, the PA-2500RC
will take priority over the other PA-2500RC
for which this function has not been activated
and can interrupt their announcements
COMPRESSION – in the position ON, the dy-
namics of the microphone signal will be atten-
uated to reduce distortions when announce-
ments at a high volume are being made
CHIME – in the position ON, a chime will sound
first when the button TALK (46) is pressed;
the chime melody is selected via the following
two switches:
4 TONE – in the position ON, the 4-tone chime
will sound
2 TONE – in the position ON, the 2-tone chime
will sound if the switch "4 TONE" is in the
upper position
The volume of the chime can be adjusted: Use a
small screwdriver to turn the control CHIME (43).
9 Protective Circuits and
Fault Indication
The power amplifier of the PA-2510D and PA-
2520D is equipped with a protective circuit
against overload, overheating and direct voltage
at the output to prevent damage to the speakers
and the amplifier. When the amplifier is switched
on, the LED PROT (7) will light up for approx.
2 seconds. If the LED lights up during operation
or if it fails to extinguish after switching on, the
protective circuit has been activated and a fault
has occurred. In this case, switch off the ampli-
fier and eliminate the source of error.
The switch-mode power supply unit of the
amplifier is equipped with a protective circuit as
well. If the power supply unit is switched off in
case of overload, press the pushbutton RESET
(10) by means of a thin, non-conductive object to
reset the protective circuit. If the protective circuit
instantly switches off the amplifier again, discon-
nect the amplifier from the mains and eliminate
the source of error.
For the zone paging microphone PA-2500RC,
microphone failures will be indicated by the LED
MIC/ FAULT (49).
