3. If applicable, guide the intubation tube(s) into the face
cushion and head support openings during patient transfer.
4. If applicable, use the line manager to route intubation
tube(s).

NOTES:
•
Notify the conscious patient that they should not make any adjustments without a caregiver.
•
Make sure to replace the disposable face cushion if it becomes soiled or damaged.
•
Patient may migrate when in the reverse Trendelenburg position. Check patient position
during use.
•
Follow the facility protocol to prevent pressure ulcers when using the proning device.
1. Rotate the mirror to view the patient's face.
2. Position the patient's face:
a. Unlock the slide clamps and move the ICU prone head
positioner on the bracket.
b. Make sure the patient's eyes are free from any contact
and the face is supported.
c.
Lock the slide clamps.
3. Adjust the lateral (side-to-side) position of the head support:
a. Unlock the lateral slide lever.
b. Support the patient's head and adjust the lateral
position.
c.
Lock the lateral slide lever.
4. Adjust the patient's neck to the neutral position (requires 2
people):
a. One person must support the patient's head while the
second person releases the ball joint.
b. Position the patient's neck as necessary.
c.
Lock the ball joint and remove the handle.
