SIMPLIFIED USER MANUAL LABEL

Five adhesive labels are supplied with your clamp.
Choose the label corresponding to your language and above all do not forget to stick it on the
back of the clamp.
Now, this label will always remind you of the essential information for correct use.

PRESENTATION

The F21 Clamp on Harmonic Meter puts a premium on simplicity and reliability in use to satisfy
the needs of professionals in the electrical field.
The F21 Clamp naturally benefits from the expertise of CHAUVIN ARNOUX in multimeter
clamps :
- A compact instrument with built in current sensor for current measurements without
opening the circuit to be tested,
- Exceptional styling and protective features,
- Conforms to IEC electrical safety standards,
- Light and sturdy for use in all conditions.
The large display offers excellent ease of reading :
- 10,000 measurement counts on digital,
- 30 segment analogue bargraph,
- function symbols and warning signals.
Easy and safe to use :
- Select Current or Voltage with the rotary switch, enclose the cable or connect and read the
true rms measurement,
- If you need further information, simply press one of the 5 function buttons - store in memory
if necessary.
The base accuracy is 2%.
The F21 Clamp is also equipped, for current measurements, with an analogue output to
display the waveform of the primary current on an oscilloscope or a recorder.

DESCRIPTION

To allow you to familiarize yourself with your clamp, the functions and the display are briefly
described below.
The following chapter "Operating procedures" describes each function in detail.
CLAMPING THE CABLE
1 Jaws
They enclose the cable to measure AC CURRENTS.
The jaw has a non-pinch design.
The red colour has been chosen to identify the area that is potentially dangerous on current
measurement.
2 Centreing marks
Three marks indicate the reference position for the conductor within the magnetic circuit.
The specially designed shape of the magnetic circuit offers a high clamping capacity and
satisfies the majority of high current applications.
A 2 busbars 50 x 5mm
B 2 cables dia 25mm
C 1 cable dia 42mm
Reminder : The clamp must only enclose one live conductor, which may physically
subdivide into 2 smaller sections. In principle, the clamp can not measure the current in
a conductor including the live conductor and the neutral cable.
3 Guard
The non-slip guard, all around the clamp, protects the user, when clamping a cable, from
accidental contact with a non insulated conductor.
4 Trigger
Allows you to open the jaws

FUNCTIONS

5 HOLD button
This button allows measurement in a difficult or badly lit environment, by memorising
the value for subsequent reading.
NB : This button has priority over the other function buttons.
Nevertheless, the HOLD function does not inhibit the operation of the analogue
output, nor the analogue bargraph which always gives the current value.
