OPERATING ThE SIDERAIlS
To raise the siderails, as shown in Figure 43, lift up on the siderail until the latch clicks and the siderail locks into place.
When a patient is on the cot, always keep the siderails in the raised position unless the patient is being transferred.
To lower the siderails, squeeze handle (B) to release the siderail latch. Guide the siderail down toward the foot end
until flat.
WARNING
Siderails are not intended to serve as a patient restraint device. See
to utilize the siderails properly could result in patient injury.

OPERATING ThE BACKREST
To raise the backrest, as shown in Figure 43, squeeze handle (A) for pneumatic assist in lifting the backrest to the
desired height.
To lower the backrest, squeeze handle (A) and push down on the backrest frame until the backrest has reached the
desired height.
