Instruction for use
• A SKYLOTEC DEUS 7300 Series controlled
descent device is only part of a complete
system for rescue or belay.
• Make sure components of your back-up belay
system and primary system are compatible.
• Avoid impact loading of your SKYLOTEC DEUS
7300 Series system.
• Pay special attention when attaching
connectors and when selecting an anchorage.
• Always wear appropriate gloves when using
SKYLOTEC controlled descent devices.
• Avoid descending into electrical, thermal,
chemical, mechanical and other hazards.
• Avoid using SKYLOTEC controlled descent
devices around moving machinery.
The user of DEUS controlled descent devices
assumes responsibility for the proper and safe use
of the equipment. Users and their employers must
strictly conform to the following:
• Provide each user with a copy of these
instructions of use
• Be aware of regulations
• Use devices only as specified – do not alter
• Assume risks associated with failure to follow
instructions
• Ensure that all users are trained on proper use,
care, and maintenance of this equipment.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE USER

• The DEUS 7300 Series device and all ropes,
connectors, harnesses and anchors must be
inspected before and after each use.
• Always make sure the rope path is free of
hazards that could damage or interfere with the
rope.
• Inspection must be carried out by a competent
person.
• Read this entire Instruction Manual before using
a SKYLOTEC DEUS 7300 Series device.
• If SKYLOTEC DEUS 7300 Series device has
been used in an emergency or uncontrolled
impact loading (fall), device and rope must
be removed from service and inspected by a
SKYLOTEC certified technician.
SKYLOTEC reserves the right to change the
specifications, performance and functionality of its
products at any time without prior notice
• Remove immediately from service any
equipment that fails to pass inspection
• Heed limitation of user weight
• Heed limitation of height of use
• Ensure that rope length exceeds the required
descent hight
• Inspect and maintain equipment
• Train and manage persons at height
• Develop a rescue plan
• Continuously assess risks
