Never disassemble the smoke detector; there are no user serviceable parts inside the unit.
You may only remove detector from backplate to replace batteries if not serviced by installer.
When replacing the batteries, follow the instructions specified within the Installation Instruc-
tions.
Never paint the unit. Paint may prevent smoke from entering the unit. If you are planning renov-
ations or repainting, contact your installer and ask that the unit be temporarily removed until
work is complete.
If the unit is located in an area where it is exposed to high levels of dust or insects and causes false
alarms, it may require service; contact your smoke detector installer or dealer.
Testing and maintenance procedures shall be in accordance with CAN/ULC-S552-02.

DigitalSecurity Controls warrants that for a period of twelve months fromthe date of purchase, the product shallbe free of defects in
materials and workmanship under normaluse and that in fulfillment of any breach of such warranty, DigitalSecurity Controls shall, at
its option, repair or replace the defective equipment upon return of the equipment to its repair depot. This warranty applies only to
defects in parts and workmanship and not to damage incurred in shipping or handling, or damage due to causes beyond the con-
trolof DigitalSecurity Controls such as lightning, excessive voltage, mechanicalshock, water damage, or damage arising out of
abuse, alteration or improper application of the equipment.

Smoke Detectors: Smoke detectors that are a part of this systemmay not properly alert occupants of a fire for a number of reas-
ons, some of which follow. The smoke detectors may have been improperly installed or positioned. Smoke may not be able to reach
the smoke detectors, such as when the fire is in a chimney, walls or roofs, or on the other side of closed doors. Smoke detectors may
not detect smoke fromfires on another levelof the residence or building.
Every fire is different in the amount of smoke produced and the rate of burning. Smoke detectors cannot sense alltypes of fires
equally well. Smoke detectors may not provide timely warning of fires caused by carelessness or safety hazards such as smoking in
bed, violent explosions, escaping gas, improper storage of flammable materials, overloaded electricalcircuits, children playing with
matches or arson. Even if the smoke detector operates as intended, there may be circumstances when there is insufficient warning
to allow alloccupants to escape in time to avoid injury or death.
Warning : DigitalSecurity Controls recommends that the entire systembe completely tested on a regular basis. However, despite fre-
quent testing, and due to, but not limited to, criminaltampering or electricaldisruption, it is possible for this product to failto performas
expected.
Important Information : Changes or modifications not expressly approved by DigitalSecurity Controls could void the user's author-
ity to operate this equipment.

PRODUCT. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT includes computer software, and may include associated media, printed materials, and

Storage/Network Use - The SOFTWARE PRODUCT may not be installed, accessed, displayed, run, shared or used concurrently
on or fromdifferent computers, including a workstation, terminalor other digitalelectronic device ("Device"). In other words, if You
have severalworkstations, You willhave to acquire a license for each workstation where the SOFTWARE willbe used.
Backup Copy - You may make back-up copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, but You may only have one copy per license
