Permissible ambient temperatures
The explosionproof control and signalling
devices, series C22 , have been designed for an
ambient temperature of –20 °C to 40 °C (stan-
dard) or –20 °C to 60 °C (on request).

Installation
The generally recognized rules of engineer-
ing, IEC 60079-14 'Electrical installations
design, selection and erection', national reg-
ulations and the instructions set out in this
manual apply for the installation and opera-
tion.
Control and signalling devices of the series
C22 must not be built into the walls of flame-
proof enclosures.
4.1
Double insulation
With the exception of the rotary switches, all the
devices are doubly insulated and do not have a
connection for a PE conductor.
NOTE! The rotary switch has a PE conductor
and must be connected correctly!
