Overall View
The GM48-2 or GM49-2 Auxiliary Displays optimize the weighing station because the GM48-2 or GM49-2 can
be positioned to the ergonomically correct angle for reading weighing results. The GM48-2 or GM49-2 Auxiliary
Displays can be connected to all balances in the METTLER TOLEDO AM/PM/CM line.
Note about the GM49-2: If balances up to 6.1 kg capacity are subjected to wide mains voltage fluctuations or
connected to weak supply systems, it may happen that the two displays, i.e. balance display and second display,
do not operate simultaneously. In this case we recommend switching off the balance display (unplug power cable,
open balance, detach ribbon cable from display board, close balance, plug in power cable).
Note: In principle, both illustrations shown below apply to all AM/PM/CM balances and scales.
Acessories
The necessary bolts are included along with the Auxiliary Display (with shaft and support plate).
Technical Data
Display GM48-2: liquid crystal display (LCD); GM49-2: fluorescence indicator panel (FIP). Display height above
table: approx. 40 cm. Admissible ambient conditions during operation: temperature 0...40 °C; humidity (relative)
15...85%. Dimensions (width x depth x height) 195 x 60 x 70 mm.
What´s wrong if ...
... the balance is switched on, but the Auxiliary Display does not display results?
Then: – the connection cable has not been plugged in correctly.
– there is a malfunction. Briefly disconnect the balance power cable, then switch the balance (display)
back on. If the Auxiliary Display still does not work → contact METTLER TOLEDO Customer Service.
.... both display (balance/Auxiliary Display) do not show the same results?
Then: – carry out the switch-on routine (segment check) to determine which display is defective, then contact
METTLER TOLEDO Customer Service).
Setting up the instrument
The two screws sealing the holes in the bottom of the housing must
be removed, and should not be used again.
Using the two screws, fasten the Auxiliary Display in one of the two
possible positions to the bottom of the balance (only one position
is possible with the high-capacity PM scales). Plug the connection
cable of the Auxiliary Display into the GM socket on the rear of the
balance (the socket is coded so that the connector cannot be
plugged in incorrectly). Tilt the Auxiliary Display to the desired
viewing angle. Note: the display can be turned 180° by loosening
the two screws (1) underneath the support plate (2).
Connection of additional METTLER TOLEDO GM
instruments
The connector on the cable is designed so that an additional
METTLER TOLEDO instrument can be plugged in at the same
time as the Auxiliary Display.
Cleaning
The Auxiliary Display may not be cleaned with harsh solvents
(acetone, ammonia, etc.).
