2. Operating the shredder

Attaching the connecting cable
Note:A connecting cable with a minimum quality of H05RN-F according to
DIN 57 282/VDE 0282 and a rubber-coated connector (minimum cross
sector 1.5 mm2) is required to operate the shredder. The weibang safety
cable fulfills these requirements. The device must be connected to a 230 V
a.c, shock-proof socket with 16 A fuse protection.
The connecting cable should be at least 15 meters long-through a maximum of 40 meters.
Longer connecting cables reduced the electric motor's output.
First connect the connecting cable to the socket on the switch casing and secure with the
safety hook. Then connect the other end to the mains.
When disconnecting the cables always remove the plug from the mains first.

Safety switch

This is a stop switch located near the opening of
shredding chamber, which interrupts the power
supply to the motor when the shredding chamber
is opened by turn the feed intake tube. The
machine can not restart until the feed intake tube
insert into the opening again.
Operation switch
The operation switch under the shredding
chamber has the following functions:
- Switch On/Off : GREEN = ON
- Mushroom switch=Emergency stop switch:
interrupts the power supply to the motor
- Overload protection=Switches the motor off
when the motor/shredder disc is blocked for
longer than 5 sec.
Switching the motor on
Open the yellow cover and press the green button marked" ", the motor and shredder disc start.
Note:If the shredder is overload, the protection will act and turn off the motor at once for protecting the motor.
Then the machine can not restart directly by press the green button. You need to press a reset button on the
left side wall of the switch firstly, and then can you restart the machine through the green start button.
Note:If the shredder works continually for some time, the thermal protection may act and turn off the motor.
You have to wait a few minutes to let the motor to cool down. Then you can restart the machine again.
Attention!
As soon as the motor starts the shredder disc starts to rotate, always switch the motor off if the shredder is
to be left alone for any length of time. Disconnect the mains plug too if any work is to be carried out on the
machine.
Switch off the motor
Open the yellow cover and press the red button marked "O", or press red mushroom button directly in an emergency:
Push the red mushroom button (Emergency Stop); e.g. if the shredder disc is blocked!
Transporting the shredder
Tilt the filling hopper backwards holding the handle with one foot placed firmly on the wheel axle. The shredder
can be wheeled around in this position.
Note:For your own safety the safety instructions at the beginning of
these operating instructions are to be read and observed when using
the shredder.
