1. READ AND UNDERSTAND OPERATOR'S MANUAL PRIOR TO USE OF THE CHIPPER/SHREDDER.
Do not start the machine before you are familiar with all operating elements.
Children and persons under 16 years of age as well as persons who are not acquainted with the
operating instructions should not be allowed to use the shredder.
This shredder is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
2. Before operating chipper/shredder, ensure that it is structurally and mechanically safe.
a. Check if all motor controls and the brake action functioning within acceptable tolerances.
b. Keep all nuts and bolts in good working condition, tight and keep all guards and deflectors in place and
in good working condition.
c. Check the cutting disk is in good working order to avoid any risks. The screw connections should be
checked after every 20 working hours
If any of the above checks fail, please take necessary steps to
maintain or repair the unit before operating It in any environment.
3.The shredder is designed for private use in household or hobby gardens .If used in public gardens, parks, sports
grounds, streets and in forestry and agricultural enterprises, particular care must be taken.
The shredder is designed to chop up organic materials such as tree or hedge cuttings, rootstocks, bark
and similar materials.
The shredder should not be used to chop up stones, glass, textiles, metals, plastics and soil. Any attempt
to chop up these materials will damage the cutting blade.
The shredder may not be used as a drive aggregate for other tools.
The shredder should not be used if other person, especially children, or household pets are in the
vicinity.
Only chop when visibility is good.
The shredder should never be used with a missing, damaged or incorrectly mounted filling hopper.
Damaged or missing filling hoppers must be replaced for safety reasons.

4. When operating the chipper/shredder, follow these guidelines for operator's personal safety:
Always wear proper safety clothing and equipment for the job. These can and should include eye and ear
protection, garden gloves, dust mask and any other items that are appropriate for the job and jobsite
requirements.
When using the shredder always wear closed shoes with non-slip soles. The machine should be not be
used when barefoot or when wearing open sandals.
Always operate the machine in a recommended position and only on a firm, level surface.
Do not operate the machine on a paved, concrete, or hard gravel surface. Operating on a hard surface
may cause discharge material to rebound and kickback. It will also cause increased machine vibration,
premature wear of parts, and loosening of fasteners.
Never wear any jewelry, neck ties, or other loose or hanging items that can be caught on any part of the
machine.
Tie back or remove any loose hair, clothing and any other potential hazards and obstructions.
Before starting the machine, make certain that the cutting chamber is empty.
Keep all hands, loose clothing, hair, jewelry and all other personal parts and belongings away from the
feeding chamber, discharge chute, or near any moving parts of the machine.
Do not overreach. Keep proper balance and footing at all times.
Keep your face and body back from the feed opening.
When feeding material into the machine, be extremely careful to exclude pieces of metal, rocks,
bottles,cans or other foreign objects.
Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge area; this may prevent proper discharge and
can result in kickback of material through the feed opening.
Keep the motor clean of debris and other accumulations.
Do not transport or move machine while the motor or machine is running. If you have to lift or tilt the
shredder e.g. for transportation, the motor must be switched off. Wait until the cutting means has stopped
rotating and always disconnect the ignition cable.
