Safety rules for carbon dioxide (CO ) cylinders

• Use only for supplying CO to aquaria.

• CO cylinders are under high pressure. Therefore, please observe the following:

• Do not throw CO cylinders. Store in a cool place. Protect against sun and temperatures above 50°C.

• Do not force CO cylinders open.

• Release CO only using a DENNERLE pressure reducer for CO

• Release CO out of upright cylinders only. Secure against tipping over.

• CO gas is heavier than air and causes suffocation at high concentrations, therefore:

• Do not inhale CO gas.

• Store out of reach of children.

• Secure against sliding or rolling around, otherwise the valve may be damaged, causing CO
window, blower switched on, etc.
• Do not refill disposable CO cylinders!

How the
CO fertilizer system Exclusive works

The CO pressure reducer Exclusive reduces the cylinder pressure to an ope-

rating pressure which the user can set in line with practical requirements.
The precision-mechanism needle valve enables highly exact and convenient
CO dosage. CO dosage is controlled with the CO bubble counter Exact.

The CO is transported to the aquarium via the special leak-proof Softflex

CO hose. The CO Maxi-Flipper ensures effective dissolving of the CO

the aquarium water. A special CO check valve protects the valuable pres-

sure reducer from any backflowing water. The CO content in the aquarium

water can be read directly by means of the CO long-term test Correct.

IMPORTANT: Secure the CO

1. Connect the pressure reducer
• Close the needle valve by turning in anti-
clockwise direction (if it is not yet closed).
IMPORTANT: Tighten only gently!
• Pull green protective cap off the cylinder
valve.
• Screw pressure reducer hand-tight onto CO
2
cylinder without canting by turning slowly
in clockwise direction. The cylinder
pressure manometer will now indicate
approx. 60 bar (at 20 °C).
Note: You may notice a brief "hiss" when
screwing or unscrewing the pressure redu-
cer, similar to the sound when you open a
bottle of mineral water.

2. Fit check valve in CO hose

pressure reducer
• Connect hose with check valve to the
needle valve of the pressure reducer and
secure with coupling ring. IMPORTANT:
The arrow on the check valve must point

4. Connect the bubble counter
• Open the two sealing tabs and remove
bubble counter from mounting bracket.
• Insert strap through the two slots on the
mounting bracket with the soft side
facing outwards and attach mounting
bracket to CO cylinder.

Other possible methods of attachment:
(1) on the front pane of the aquarium
by means of the two suction clips or (2)
on the wall or in the base cabinet by
means of screws (not included in scope
of delivery). Remove the suction clips
and nipples for this purpose.
• Pour tap water into bubble counter until
it is 3/4 full.
• Unscrew coupling rings from bubble
counter and fit to the ends of the hoses.
Slide the hose coming from the pressu-
re reducer onto the hose connector for
connection to the bubble counter and
the hose leading to the aquarium onto
the other hose connector. Retighten cou-
pling rings.
• Click bubble counter into place on moun-
ting bracket and close sealing tabs.
5. How to install
the CO Maxi-Flipper correctly

• Rinse the CO Maxi-Flipper with warm
2
tap water. Do not use detergent!
• Plug the CO supply hose onto the hose
2
connector. TIP: wet hose connector befo-
