Appropriate Use
These lubrication units were designed to be used in outdoor
locations and hold 800 lbs of grease.
The maximum speci¿ cation ratings should not be exceeded.
Any other use not in accordance with instructions will result in
loss of claims for warranty and liability.

OPERATION
The unit will dispense grease whenever it senses and counts
the preset number of axles passing the sensor. As long as
the unit is turned "on", it will remember the wheel count of the
previous train. For example, if the count is set for 10 axles and
only four counts were detected before the last train passed the
sensor, only 6 axles from the next train will be required before
the pump starts running again. The count resets if power is
interrupted.
From table one, it can be seen that grease output from the
pump can be increased by decreasing the axle count, or by
increasing the pump run time. No axles are counted while the
pump is running, so even when the axle count is set for "1", the
pump will turn "off" and then "on" with a slight delay between
cycles. If the amount of grease needs to be increased or
decreased, use table one to ¿ nd the proper setting. The grease
will dispense more evenly with more numerous and shorter
pump "on" cycles.
The side of the track that has constant gage face and wheel
À ange contact will tend to have a more À attened brush. This is
a normal condition. The brush will still bridge the gap between
the wheel À ange and the track gage face if the wheel À ange
should move slightly away from that rail. The grease will rest
on the brush tips and be in the proper position to be carried
away by the wheel À ange.
The grease reservoir is ¿ lled from the top through a 16-inch in
diameter cover. While the pump does have an inlet screen to
protect it from debris, care should be taken to insure the cleanli-
ness of the grease.
