Automatic flushing
The automatic flushing serves to protect the water hygiene in
cases of longer non utilization the mixer and activates water
flow 3 days after the last use for 5 minutes.
Safety notes:
- Guarantee free drain in the case of activated automatic
flushing.
- For the execution of the automatic flushing of the cold and
hot water line the thermostat must be in mixed water
position.
Switch automatic flushing On / Off
Warning
Do not stay in the wet area!
Use suitable aid.
Please proceed as follows:
1. Press operation cap (L), see Fig. [6].
2. Release operation cap, water flow starts.
3. With pending water press operation cap again (approx. 5 s)
until water flow interrupts for 1 s.
4. Continue pressing operation cap (approx. 5 s) until water
flow interrupts for 1 s again.
5. Continue pressing operation cap (approx. 5 s) until water
flow interrupts for 1 s one more time.
6. Pressing the operation cap twice (doubleclick) within 2 s
switched on or off the automatic flushing .
Pulsating water jet indicates attitude:
- 4 water pulses = Automatic flushing is switched on
- 2 water pulses = Automatic flushing is switched off
For changing the procedure must be repeated.
Adjustment
For temperature adjustment, see Figs. [7] and [8].
• Before the mixer is put into service if the mixed water
temperature measured at the point of discharge varies from
the specified temperature set on the thermostat.
• After any maintenance operation at the thermostatic
cartridge.
1. Open water flow and check the temperature of the water
with a thermometer, see Fig. [7].
2. Turn the temperature control handle (N) until the water
running out reaches 30 °C.
3. Remove screw (N1) and pull off handle cap (N),
see Fig. [8].
4. Remove screw (O) and pull off scale handle (P).
5. Push on scale handle (P) in such a way that the 30 °C mark
on the handle coincides with the mark (R) on the cover plate
and fasten with screw (O).
6. Push on handle cap (N) and fasten with screw (N1).
Reversed union (hot on right - cold on left).
Replace thermoelement 47 217, see replacement parts fold-
out page I, ref.-no. 47 657.
Regulate hot water end stop, see Fig. [9].
With this thermostatic mixer, the hot water end-stop can be
adjusted to a temperature between 35 °C and 45 °C.
1. Adjust temperature to 20 °C.
2. Remove screw (N1) and pull off handle cap (N).
3. Remove screw (O) and pull off scale handle (P).
Caution ! Adjusting nut (S) should not be adjusted!
5
4. Pull off red end-stop (T) and refit with the arrow (T1)
pointing to the maximum desired temperature.
5. Push on scale handle (P) in such a way that the 20 °C mark
on the handle coincides with the mark (R) on the cover plate
and fasten with screw (O).
6. Push on handle cap (N) and fasten with screw (N1).
Set continuous running time to 3.5 min or 11 min
Warning
Do not stay in the wet area!
Use suitable aid.
Please proceed as follows:
1. Remove screw (N1) and pull off handle cap (N),
see Fig. [9].
2. Turn the scale handle (P) to the hot water end-stop.
3. Press operation cap (L), see Fig. [6].
4. Release operation cap, water flow starts.
5. With pending water press operation cap again (approx. 5 s)
until water flow interrupts for 1 s.
3.5 min:
- Release operation cap.
- Pressing the operation cap twice (doubleclick) within 2 s
the continuous test starts for 3.5 min.
11 min:
- Continue pressing operation cap (approx. 5 s) until water
flow interrupts for 1 s one more time.
- Release operation cap.
- Pressing the operation cap twice (doubleclick) within 2 s
the continuous test starts for 11 min.
6. Turn back temperature scale handle (P) to cold water end-
stop and re-install handle cap (N), see Fig. [9].
The points 1, 2, und 6 are to carry out only in cause of thermal
desinfication.
Prevention of frost damage
When the domestic water system is drained, thermostatic
mixers must be drained separately, since non-return valves
are installed in the hot and cold water connections.
For this purpose, the mixer must be removed from the wall.
Maintenance
Inspect and clean all parts, replace if necessary.
I. Cartridge
The battery has to be replaced at latest 10 years after putting
the mixer into service.
Almost unloaded battery is displayed by pulsating water jet.
1. Loosen screw (U1), see Fig. [10].
2. Pull out cartridge (U) with battery (V).
3. Take out battery (V), check contacts, clean and replace
battery if necessary.
4. Operate cartridge (U) once by pressing the operation cap.
5. Insert new battery (V).
6. The mixer is now in the mounting mode for 3 min,
with operation no water flows.
7. Install cartridge (U) with battery (V) in mixer and fix with
screw (U1).
8. Finishing mounting mode after 3 min or by pressing the
operation cap twice (doubleclick) within 2s.
