 Make sure there is a level surface in the
area of the housing [1].
 Provide wall breakthrough. Minimum
diameter for AE 10: 105 mm,
AE 16: 155 mm. We would recommend
fitting a wall sleeve (WH 100 or WH 150).
 Lay the power cable.
 Mark and drill dowel holes as described
below. Use mounting material of a
sufficient size.
7.1 AE 10
 Drill holes in housing [1] at the two points
indicated by an arrow (Ø 4.5 mm).
 Take housing [1] to installation location,
align and mark dowel holes.
 Drill dowel holes and insert dowels.
7.2 AE 16
 Place internal shutter in installation position
and align.
 Open lamella by hand and mark the four
dowel holes.
 Drill dowel holes and insert dowels.
7.3 Ceiling mounting for AE 10 and
AE 16
Always secure housing [1] to ceiling

with screws.
Danger of short-circuits and
NOTICE
unit damage by a build-up of
condensation in the housing.
 Thermally insulate ventilation
ducts in professional manner.
 Prepare for mounting as described above.
8. Installation
 Remove the terminal box cover [8].
 Cut out housing recess at knockout point
[4] to feed in the power cable in a surface-
mounted manner.
Danger of short circuits and
NOTICE
damage to unit! Water will
penetrate if the power cable is
incorrectly fed into the
terminal box or if the cable
grommet is not fitted
correctly.
 Pierce cable grommet [3] with
nozzle pin such that the cable
grommet tightly clasps the
power cable.
 Correctly fit cable grommet [3].
 Pierce cable grommet [3] with a nozzle pin.
 Place connector [6] the same distance in
the four guides on the rear of the shutter
and slide in until stop is reached.
 Stick foam strip [7] on connector (to fix unit
in wall or pipe).
 Place power cable through cable grommet
[3].
 Place housing [1] in wall breakthrough such
that it is plane with the wall.
