Important Operating Instructions
The users of these products are cautioned to use accessories and peripherals approved by Intermec Technologies Corporation. The use of
accessories other than those recommended, or changes to this product that are not approved by Intermec Technologies Corporation, may void
the compliance of this product and may result in the loss of the user's authority to operate the equipment.
The non-incendive (NI) versions of the CN70 and CN70e mobile computers have been qualified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc., to the
requirements of the U.S.A. and Canada for use in Class I, Division 2 - Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 2 - Groups F, G; Class III, Division 2;
and Non-Hazardous locations only. These units have a T6 temperature code.
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) has not tested the performance or reliability of the Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware, GPS
operating software, or other GPS-related aspects of this product. UL has only tested for the explosion, fire, shock, and casualty hazards
required by the applicable hazardous locations standards. UL certification does not cover the performance or reliability of the GPS hardware,
GPS operating software, or other GPS-related aspects of this product. UL MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, OR
CERTIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER REGARDING THE PERFORMANCE OR RELIABILITY OF ANY GPS RELATED FUNCTIONS OF THIS
PRODUCT.

Caution: This marking indicates that the user should read all included documentation before use. Retain this supplement for future
reference.
Warning: Explosion Hazard - Substitution of components may impair suitability for Division 2 Class I, II, III locations.
Note: These products have no operator replaceable parts with the exception of the battery pack, Secure Digital, and SIM cards. Repair of these
products must be performed by trained Intermec service personnel.
Warning: Explosion Hazard - Batteries must only be changed or charged in an area known to be non-hazardous. Use ONLY Intermec
battery Model 1000AB01 or 1000AB02.
Note: From time to time additional battery packs may be added to the qualifications of these products. Contact your local Intermec
representatives if the 1000AB01 or 1000AB02 is no longer available as a replacement battery pack.
The following additional recommendations must be observed for the safety of the operator and others in potentially hazardous Division 2
locations:
These products must only be used when the ambient temperature is between -20 ºC and 50 ºC (-4 ºF and 122 ºF).

These products may NOT be connected to any powered accessories while in potentially hazardous locations. These accessories include
anything that uses the dock connector.

The optional scan handle can be used while in Division 2 locations.
•
The use of Secure Digital and SIM cards in this unit while in potentially hazardous locations is permitted as long as these cards are not
removed or changed while in the hazardous location.
•
Any connector cover removed while in ordinary locations must be reinstalled prior to entering a Class II or III potentially hazardous
location.

Regulatory Emissions, Immunity, and Radio Compliance
These versions of the CN70 and CN70e comply with the same regulatory requirements as the ordinary location versions. See the CN70 and
