EXPLANATION OF THE FUNCTIONS
A. Day of the week: indicated by the hand on the counter positioned at 9 o'clock. The hand
moves forward by one position on every day of the week, before returning to Monday at
the start of the following week.
B. Day of the month: indicated by the hand on the counter positioned at 3 o'clock. Every
day, the hand moves forward by one position, before returning to the 1st each time the
month changes. At the end of the month, whether it has 28, 29, 30 or 31 days, the date
automatically jumps back to the first of the following month. This mechanism has been
programmed to take leap years into account until the year 2100, which will not be recog-
nised as a non-leap year. A manual adjustment will therefore be required at this time.
C. The month: indicated by the large hand on the counter positioned at 12 o'clock. It makes
one complete revolution every 12 months.
D. The year: indicated by the small hand at the centre of the counter positioned at 12 o'clock.
It makes one complete revolution every 4 years. The year is displayed in reference to the
leap year, which is indicated by a blank space. The three non-leap years are indicated by
the figures "1", "2" and "3".
Reminder: Leap years are those for which the last two digits are divisible by 4: 2004,
2008, 2012, etc. The centenary years (2100; 2200; 2300, etc.) are not leap years, with
the exception of those for which the entire figure is divisible by 400 (for example, 1600;
2000; 2400, etc.).
E. The second time zone: indicated by the large hand on the counter positioned at 8 o'clock.
It indicates the hour in the second time zone, while the minutes are indicated by the
central minute hand. This dial is based on a 12 hour partition.

F. Day/night indicator: indicated by the small hand on the counter positioned at 8 o'clock. The
blue zone indicates the night-time period. The silvered part, on the contrary, indicates the
day-time period. This indicator is linked to the main time zone, which is therefore based on
a 24 hour partition.
G. Small-seconds: indicated on the counter positioned at 4 o'clock.
