all reflecting objects to avoid damage to the eye. Locate the laser
in such a way that it is not possible for any person to look at the
laser beam (intentionally or otherwise). Under no circumstances
take the instrument apart, since this may expose you to powerful
laser radiation. The laser may only be used for the projection of
laser lines. Do not use the instrument in rain or near flammable
materials. Technical modification or alterations to the instrument
may be carried out without prior notice. The manufacturer's re-
sponsibility shall in no case exceed the value of the costs of repair
or replacement of the instrument. Respect the environment and
do NOT discard the instrument or batteries in household waste.

First steps
Remove any protective films.
Open the battery compartment and insert batteries. Respect the
indicated polarity.
Turn the transportation lock (5) to the "UNLOCK" position. The
pendulum levelling mechanism is released, and the instrument is
able to align itself on its own. Make sure that the instrument is not
on too much of a slope (within 4°). If the slope of the instrument
should exceed 4°, the laserbeams will flash.
Horizontal and vertical leveling
Turn the transportation lock to UNLOCK:

Mode 1: When you turn on the device, the horizontal and vertical
laserline will be visible.
Mode 2: If you push a second time, only the vertical laserline will
be visible
Mode 3: If you push a third time, only the horizontal laserline will
be visible
Mode 4: Both laserlines will be visible, but automatic selfleveling is
switched off. This means the laserbeams will be visible even when
the device is more than 4° out of level.
Working with a receiver
If you like to work with a receiver (optional), you need to push the
on/off button for 3 seconds untill the beep. The LED-indicator will
