INERTIAL CHAIN BRAKE
The inertial chain brake ensures maxi-
mum safety in using the chain saw. It
protects the operator from dangerous
kickback which can occur during working
phases. It is actuated, with consequent
instant locking of the chain, when the
operator presses the lever (Fig. 31) (ma-
nual operation) or automatically by iner-
tia when the protection is pushed
forward (Fig. 32) in the event of sudden
kickback (inertial operation).
The chain brake is released by pulling
the lever towards the operator (Fig. 33).
CHECKING BRAKE OPERATION
At machine inspection prior to each job,
check the operating condition of the
brake following the steps below:
1. Start the engine and grasp the handle
securely with both hands.
2. Pulling the throttle lever to maintain
the chain operation, push the brake le-
ver down toward the front using the
back of your left hand (Fig. 31).
3. When the brake operates and the
chain is stopped, release the throttle
lever.
4. Release the brake (Fig. 33).

lubricate the leverage (Fig. 34). Check
wear on the brake belt. Its minimum
thickness must be 0.60 mm (0.02").
FRENO CADENA
FRENO CADENA INERCIAL
El freno cadena inercial es un dispositivo
de grande seguridad en el uso de la mo-
tosierra. Protege al operador de los
eventuales peligrosos rebotes que se
pudieran producir durante las distintas
fases del trabajo. Viene activado, con el
consiguiente bloqueo instantáneo de la
cadena, cuando la mano del operador
hace presión sobre la palanca (Fig. 31)
(accionamento manual), o bien automáti-
camente por inercia, cuando la protec-
ción viene empujada hacia adelante
(Fig. 32) en caso de rebote al improviso
(accionamento inertial).
El freno cadena se desbloquea tirando
de la palanca hacia el operador (Fig.
33).
CONTROL FUNCIONAMIENTO FRENO
Al efectuar una inspección antes de eje-
cutar cualquier trabajo, verificar el fun-
cionamiento del freno observando los si-
guientes puntos:
1. Accionar el motor y tomar la empuña-
dura firmemente con ambras manos.
2. Tirando la palanca de gases para
mantener el funcionamiento de la ca-
dena, empujar la palanca del freno
hacia abajo, a la parte anterior, utili-
zando el dorso de su mano izquierda
(Fig. 31).
3. Al accionar el freno y al detener la ca-

dena, liberar la palanca de gases.
4. Liberar el freno (Fig. 33).
MANUTENCION FRENO: Mantener
siempre limpio el mecanismo del freno
cadena y lubricar las palancas (Fig. 34).
Verificar el desgaste de la cinta del fre-
no. El espesor mínimo debe de ser de
0.60 mm.
