Problem
Ram will not hold pressure.

System has an external leak.
Manual control valve needs
adjustment or repair.
The manual control valve is not in
correct position.
The manual control valve needs to
be adjusted.
Check ball does not seat properly.
The manual control valve is not in
correct position.

be adjusted.
Quick-couplers are not fully
threaded together.
Manual control valve set incorrectly.
The pilot-operated valve will not
open, will not open fully, or opens
too slowly.
Hydraulic cylinder of the accessory
has failed.

Probable Remedy
Visually inspect hoses, connectors
and fittings for leaking hydraulic
fluid. Replace faulty components.

Rotate the manual control valve to
AUTO RELEASE position.

Rotate the manual control valve to
AUTO RELEASE position.

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and
clean the couplings. Reconnect
the hydraulic hoses. Hand-tighten
couplings firmly until all threads are
engaged. Do not use a wrench.

Troubleshoot the accessory that is
connected to the pump.
