Immediately prepare your chipper shredder for storage at the end of the season or if the
machine will not be used for 30 days or more.

Engine
Consult the separate Engine Owner's Manual for manufacturer's recommendations for
storage.
NOTE: If the gasoline in your engine deteriorates during storage, you may need to have
the carburetor, and other fuel system components, serviced or replaced. Commonly
available fuel additives which reduce varnish and gum in your engine's fuel system can
be added according to the manufacturer's instructions. See Engine Owner's Manual
for more information.

Chipper Shredder
Off-Season Storage
• Allow the machine to run and clear out all debris for a short time before shutting the
machine down before storage.
• When storing the chipper shredder in an unventilated or metal storage shed, care
should be taken to rustproof the non-painted surfaces. Using a light oil or silicone,
coat the equipment, especially any springs, bearings, and cables.
• Remove all dirt from exterior of engine and equipment.
Follow lubrication recommendations. See Maintenance.

• Store equipment in a clean, dry area Store machine away from sparks, open flames,
pilot lights, heat and other ignition sources.
