Installation
2.1 Mounting
WARNING!
Electric shock risk.
Live parts.
Cut off the electric supply before opening the device
enclosure.
Note
Î Strong electromagnetic fields may compromise controller opera-
tion.
Î Make sure that the controller and system are not subjected to
strong electromagnetic fields.
The appliance must only be mounted in a dry, enclosed environment.
A supplementary device (with a switching gap of at least 3 mm) or a disconnec-
tion device (fuse) that complies with the current regulations must be provided
to isolate the appliance from the mains power.
During installation, take care to ensure that the mains power connection cable
is kept separate from the probe cables.
To fasten the appliance to the wall, proceed as follows:
Î Undo the cross-head screw from the faceplate and pull it downwards to
detach it from the rest of the box.
Î Mark the hanging point, drill the corresponding hole and insert the wall plug
and screw supplied.
Î Attach the case to the hanging point and mark the lower fixing point (dis-
tance between holes 130 mm).
Î Insert the lower wall plug.
Î Attach the case at the top and secure it with the lower fixing screw.
Î Make the electrical connections according to the terminal block connec-
tion diagram (see chap. 2.2)
Î Put the faceplate back in position.
Î Secure the case with the fixing screw.
2.2 Electric connection
Electric shock risk.
WARNING!
Live parts.
Cut off the electric supply before opening the device enclo-
sure.
CAUTION!
Electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic compo-
nents!
Î Eliminate any electrostatic charges before touching
parts inside the case. To do so, touch an "earthed"
object (e.g. tap, etc.)
Note
Connecting the appliance to mains power is always the last thing to
do!
The controller must be supplied from the mains power via a suitable cable. The
voltage must be 100 ... 240 V~ (50 ... 60 Hz).
The controller is equipped with four relays that can be connected to pumps,
valves, etc.:
• Relays 1 ... 3 are of the semiconductor type:
R1 ... R3
neutral N
ground
• Relay 4 is a voltage-free low-voltage relay
Some versions of the appliance come with the mains cable and probes already
connected. Otherwise, proceed as follows:
The temperature probes (S1 to S3) are connected to the following terminals
(the polarity does not matter):
S1 = Probe 1 (outside temperature probe) + corresponding GND terminal
S2 = Probe 2 (heating flow) + corresponding GND terminal
S3 = Probe 3 (e.g. return probe) + corresponding GND terminal
Connect the remote regulation (if provided in the chosen system) to the S3/
RTA12 input (the polarity does not matter) + corresponding GND terminal.
Connect the room thermostat to the RT input (the polarity does not matter) +
corresponding GND terminal.
Connect the dew point detector (if provided in the chosen system) to the S5/
TS10 input (the polarity does not matter) + corresponding GND terminal.
