The manufacturer waives all liability relating to use of the ap-
pliance without a data plate. Products without a data plate are
considered anonymous and potentially hazardous.
The main technical specifications of the steam generator are
shown on the data plate at the rear of the appliance (fig. 1).
The user must ensure that all safety standards are complied with
at the site where the steam generator is used. These include:
− efficient electrical installations;
− no explosive, readily flammable, toxic or corrosive atmos-
pheres.
The appliance must not be used in conditions where use of
Class II appliances only is permitted.
Filling the tanks
Fill the detergent solution tank (fig.2) with a detergent product
diluted as specified on its packaging.
CAUTION! Use only liquid detergents.
!
Warning!
The use of highly acidic or alkaline products or oxidants
is strictly forbidden.
!
Danger!
Never add liquids containing solvents or acids in the pure
state, for example, petrol, paint solvents or diesel. The
spray mist from the lance is highly inflammable, explosive
and toxic.
Ask your dealer for a list of detergents that can be used
with the appliance to perform different cleaning operations
and to clean different types of surface.
CAUTION! Use only clean water to fill the water tank (fig. 3).
!
Warning!
Never fill the water tank with detergent solution. This could
cause irreparable damage to the boiler.
Connecting to the water supply
The appliance is designed to be connected either to a mains
water supply or to a tank.
Connect the water supply hose between the mains water supply
(fig. 4) and the coupling on the appliance. Check that the mains
water supply provides a sufficient quantity and pressure of water
to operate the appliance: 200 to 400 kPa.
!
Warning!
The appliance must only be operated with clean water.
A dirty or sandy water supply can seriously damage the
appliance.
Caution!
Respect the instructions provided by the water
utility company.
Current regulations specify that the appliance may not be
connected to a drinking water supply unless a suitable
system separator is fitted.
Use a Type BA system separator conforming to EN 12729.
Water passing through a system separator is no longer
classified as drinking water.
!
Warning!
Do not connect the appliance to a drinking water container.
English
Connecting the injection hose.
Insert the connector in the socket on the front of the appliance,
making sure the hooks fit correctly in place (fig. 5).
Electrical connection.
The steam generator must be connected to the mains electricity
supply in respect of current regulations and standards.
!
Warning!
Do not exceed the maximum permitted impedance for the elec-
trical connection point (see Technical Specifications).
Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage of the
appliance as given on the data plate (fig. 1).
The power cable must be protected from accidental crushing.
Failure to respect the above absolves the manufacturer
of all liability and represents negligent use of the product.
!
Warning!
Protection against accidental contact.
Before removing any panels, disconnect the appliance from
the electricity supply by unplugging it from the mains socket.
Before using the appliance, make sure all protective panels are
correctly fitted and secured.
Failure to observe these instructions could result in electric
shock and absolves the manufacturer of all liability.
The mains power light "1" on the control panel lights to show
that the appliance is powered on. (Fig. 6).
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
Cleaning fabrics.
Before using the steam generator to treat fabrics, always check
their resistance to steam in a concealed area.
Steam the surface intensively then leave to dry. Check for
alterations in the shape or colour of the fabric.
!
Warning!
Cleaning coated or painted surfaces.
Never direct the steam at glued edges as strips can become
detached. Do not use the appliance on unsealed wooden or
parquet floors.
Take care when cleaning kitchen and home furniture, doors,
parquet, painted surfaces or surfaces coated with synthetic
products!
Extended exposure to the action of steam can cause wax,
French polish, synthetic coatings or paint to peel, deteriorate
or stain. You are recommended to clean these surfaces with
a steamed cloth only, or to steam them briefly using a double
layer cloth.
Cleaning glazed surfaces.
To avoid damaging the frame seals, never steam window
seals directly.
When the outdoor temperature is very low, particularly dur-
ing the winter, before cleaning, warm the glass surface to be
cleaned by steaming the entire surface lightly. This compen-
sates for the temperature difference between the inside and
outside surfaces, reducing the surface tension which would
otherwise cause the glass to break.
