The LCD Monitor functions will be discussed
in detail in the various setup sections.
In Figure 3 is shown the various function
keys for the LCD Monitor.

The LCD Monitor and Digital Camera are designed to work with
virtually all traditional size microscopes (not toy microscopes)
– those with 23.2 mm eyepiece tubes (biological/compound
microscopes) and those with 30 mm eyepiece tubes (stereoscopic
microscopes). It doesn't matter if the microscopes are monocular
or binocular types. In addition, the LCD Monitor and Digital

1. In Figure 5a is shown the back of the LCD Monitor and under
the round part is the Digital Camera. Remove the protective
cap from the round part which protects the digital camera.
2. In Figure 5b is shown where the Projection Mirror Tube will
thread into the Digital Camera. Remove the protective caps
from both ends of the projection mirror tube. Then, thread the
projection mirror tube (the large end of the tube) clockwise
into the threads of the digital camera. Figure 5c shows the
projection mirror tube attached to the digital camera.
3. Remove the standard eyepiece from the eyepiece tube
(if using a monocular microscope there is only one eyepiece
to remove). If using a binocular microscope (using two
eyepieces), you can remove the eyepiece from either
eyepiece tube.

Camera will adapt to most microscopes that have a 2nd or
3rd tube called by various names (teaching tube/image tube/
extra eyepiece tube) and you will use one of the standard type
threaded joint adapters/connectors of 12.5 mm (CS type) or
17.5 mm (C type) sizes along with various adapters from the
microscope manufacturer.

4. For biological microscopes, you will use the 23.2mm Tube
Adapter (the 30mm Tube Adapter would be used on stereo
microscopes). Figure 5d shows the 23.2mm Tube Adapter on
top and it will be threaded clockwise onto the smaller end of
the projection mirror tube until tight.
5. The LCD Monitor with Digital Camera and Projection Mirror
Tube attached can now be inserted into the eyepiece tube of
the microscope and it is held in place by a friction fit.
Note: Be careful when moving your microscope with the
LCD Monitor and Digital Camera attached. Keep the LCD
Monitor upright so that it will not accidentally fall out.
