Warning!
• When these instructions are not observed, process media under pressure can
escape and cause severe injuries.
• Observe correct installation (see dimension drawing)!
Otherwise, the assembly is not tight.
• Do not dismantle the sensor as long as the process medium is under pressure!

1. Together with an an intrinsically safe, approved cable, such as Type CA/MS***X**,
BVS 09 ATEX E 083 X or Type CYK10-G**1, BVS 04 ATEX E 121 X, from Knick Elektronische
Messgeräte GmbH & Co. KG, the SE605-*-X MS sensor is suitable for use in hazardous
areas.
2. The sensor is an intrinsically safe equipment of Category 1.
It may be installed within potentially explosive atmospheres up to Zone 0.
3. Metallic process connection parts shall be mounted at the installation site so that
they are electrostatically conductive (< 1 MΩ). The sensor shall be used only for
measurements in liquids with a conductivity of at least 10 nS/cm.
4. Ex sensors are marked by an orange-red ring.
5. The electric circuits of the sensors are safely galvanically isolated against the electric
circuits of the cable up to a crest value of the nominal voltage of 60 V.
6. Sensor and cable are plugged together and locked by a quarter turn of the coupling
ring.
7. When using the sensor and cable, the stipulations for electrical installations in hazardous
areas (EN/IEC 60079-14) must be observed.
8. The stipulations/conditions for safe use of the connected intrinsically safe Memosens
cable must be observed.
Note:
If the ambient temperatures indicated are observed, no impermissible temperatures for the
temperature class in question occur at the equipment.
