4.2 ENGINE IGNITION SWITCH
See fig.4 (N° 7 fig.1) and consult the engine instruction manual.
Before starting the engine, make sure that the gearshift lever (N° 17 fig.1) of the
final drive (N° 28 fig.1) and the power take-off control lever (N° 30 fig.1) are in
the neutral position. Depress the clutch pedal (N° 27 fig.1) to enable the ignition
switch, then turn the key in the following way:
0 = No circuit powered
1 = Instruments and indicators on (operating position). Glow-plug preheating
position: keep the key in this position until the indicator (N° 1 fig. 12)
switches off.
2 = Start engine
Once the engine has been started: release the key. It will automatically return to
operating position 1.
Check the instruments and indicators.
Check the low engine oil pressure indicator, (N° 4 fig.2): it must switch off some
seconds after the engine has started.
The pointer of the thermometer (N° 15 fig.2), when the engine is warm and
running, should stay in the green zone (80°-95°). If it reaches the red sector, it is
necessary to service the cooling plant.
4.3 STOPPING THE ENGINE
Move the accelerator lever (N° 8 fig.1) up to the idling position and release the
accelerator pedal (N° 15 fig. 1). Turn the ignition switch key (N° 7 fig. 1) to
position 0.
Engage the parking brake (N° 18 fig.1).
WARNING: The steering action of the power steering system will be
reduced if the engine accidentally stops. Depress the main brake to
allow the machine to come to a full stop.
