General safety instructions

THIS MACHINE MAY CAUSE SE-
RIOUS INJURY. Carefully study the
operating instructions to learn how
to properly use, prepare, service,
start and stop the machine. Acquaint
yourself with all adjustable parts and
the appropriate use of the machine.
Practice using the appliance and,
if you are feeling unsure, have an
experienced user or expert explain
its functionality, method of operation
and best practices to you. Make
sure you can immediately shut off
the appliance in case of emergency.
Exhaust fumes contain poisonous
carbon monoxide. Do not inhale
the exhaust fumes. Do not start the
machine in closed or badly ven-
tilated rooms. Fuel is poisonous.
Prevent petrol from coming into

contact with your skin and do not
inhale petrol fumes. Non-compli-
ance may cause a health risk!
Ensure proper ventilation when han-
dling fuel. Do not smoke when filling
up or in places where fuel is stored,
and keep away all heat sources. Do
not fill up when the motor is running
or still hot. Carefully remove the filler
cap to allow any excessive pres-
sure to relieve slowly. Do not start
the motor at the place where you
filled up.Use suitable and admissible
vessels to keep the fuel in. Non-
compliance causes a risk of fire or
explosion.
Caution! High voltage! Do not
touch live parts of the ignition sys-
tem when the motor is running.
Beware of hot parts. Do not touch
the hot silencer or exhaust pipe.
Risk of burning yourself.
Working with the petrol hedge trimmer:
The appliance must not be used by
children or persons who have but in-
complete knowledge of the operating
instructions. Acts and local regulations
may demand a minimum age for opera-
tion.
Do not allow other persons touch the
appliance. Keep the appliance away
from humans - mainly from children -
and pets. Keep a safety clearance of 3
m in all directions. Suspend your work
when humans or pets are nearby.
The operator or user is liable for acci-
dents, injury to humans or damage to
their property.
Make yourself familiar with your envi-
ronment and take heed of possible ha-
zards you may not hear when working
