Removal and dismantling of the Lathe chuck
1. Remove the Lathe chuck from the machine spindle.
2. Remove the jaws (10) one after the other.
Ø Here, observe the order 3-2-1 or 4-3-2-1 and 6-5-4-3-2-1.
3. Unscrew the stud bolts (42).
4. Remove drives (40).
5. Loosen and remove the cover holding screws (34).
6. Remove cover (30).
7. Remove spiral ring (3).
Ø In the case of a firm seating, it is recommended to place hardwood
or soft metal as an intermediate piece in the jaw recess of the body
(1) and to release the spiral ring (3) with the cover (30) by knocking it
on an alternating basis.
8. Remove funnel lubrication nipple (12) from the Lathe chuck.
ü The Lathe chuck is dismantled.
Cleaning the Lathe chuck
Thoroughly clean the dismantled Lathe chuck with a cloth soaked in pet-
roleum or benzine and remove grease residue, dirt and abrasion.
ü The Lathe chuck is clean.
Cleaning with compressed air or a high-pressure cleaner is not permitted.
Lubrication of the Lathe chuck
Lubricate the individual parts of the dismantled Lathe chuck with grease
F 80 using a brush.
ü The dismantled Lathe chuck is lubricated.
Assembly of the Lathe chuck
The Lathe chuck is assembled in reverse order.
