3.3.3 DIRECT VENT INFORMATION CONT
VENTING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1/. Remove existing fireplace leaving 5'' certified B-Vent pipe in place
2/. Make sure B-Vent pipe is properly secured
3/. Remove the 1st 1'–4' section of the B-Vent pipe from the bottom of the 5'' certified B-Vent piping
4/. Add the certified adaptor (Ecco part # 5DHC) to the bottom of the pipe and lock it into place
5/. Go to roof and remove existing chimney cap
6/. Slide continuous 50' length of 3'' 2 ply certified flex pipe with spacers provided (1 for every 3' of pipe) down
the center of the 5'' certified B-Vent pipe
7/. Go back down to fireplace site and make sure 3'' certified flex pipe is protruding from bottom of 5'' cetified
B-Vent pipe
8/. Slide 1' – 4' length (as required) of 5'' certified flexpipe over the adaptor and 3'' certified flexpipe . Seal join
with high temperature red silicon then secure to adaptor with 3 self tapping screws
9/. Pull 3'' certified flexpipe down over 3'' collar on top of fireplace. Seal join with high temperature milpak
then secure to collar with 3 self tapping screws
10/.Once 3'' pipe is securely joined to fireplace collar, repeat the procedure with the 5'' certified flexpipe. Make
sure join is sealed with high temperature red silicon and pipe is secured in place with 3 self tapping screws
11/.Go back up to roof and cut off excess 3'' certified flexpipe. Slide 3'' over collar of certified termination cap
(part # 1032) and secure to the cap with 3 self tapping screws
12/.Push termination cap down so 5'' collar on cap slides over 5'' certified B-Vent pipe. Secure in place with 3
self tapping screws
ONLY CERTIFIED VENTING MATERIALS MAY BE USED IN INSTALLATION.
NO SILICON SEALANT IS REQUIRED ON THE JOINS ON THE TERMINATION CAP
MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 1'' MUST BE MAINTAINED ALL AROUND THE 5'' B-VENT
PIPE.
The spacers are to hold the 3'' flexpipe
centered in both the 5'' flexpipe and the
5'' B-Vent pipe
