Q2: Web menu setting is not available

Problem
The Web menu cannot be opened.
The password for the Web menu is
entered but it cannot be opened.
The settings are returned to the
previous settings.
Cause
The network setting of the PC is
inappropriate (when other PCs and network
printers in the LAN are also unusable).
An inappropriate LAN cable is used for the
connection between this unit and the
network.
This unit is malfunctioning.
An inappropriate URL is specified.
The Web browser of the PC is set to use a
proxy server.
A network fault occurred or the
communication is blocked by a firewall.
The password is incorrect (when a password
error is displayed).
You did not click "Submit" or "Register" to
confirm the settings.
Troubleshooting
Remedy
Set the LAN board and LAN card again and
reboot the PC.
Reset the IP address of the PC.
Use an optimum LAN cable (straight or cross
cable).
Use a LAN cable of Category 5 or higher.
Reset this unit to restore the factory settings
(page 35), and then perform desired settings.
When using this unit for the first time or after
restoring the factory settings, access "http://
(IP address shown in the initial display of
this unit)".
The Web menu cannot be opened when the
proxy setting is inappropriate.
When using Internet Explorer 6 for
Windows, open the "Tool" menu, select
"Internet Options" → "Connection" tab →
"Set LAN", and then uncheck "Use proxy
server".
Consult your network administrator to have
the network status checked.
Enter the master password (page 35).
After configuring the Web menu settings, be
sure to click "Submit" or "Register" to
confirm the changed settings. If the window
is closed without confirmation, the settings
you made are not saved.
