Before starting any working operation, check that all commands given on the machine produce the respective intended movements, as
described in the "Key to Controls" section.
WARNING!
If anomalies are discovered, DO NOT use the tyre changer and call the after-sales service immediately.
BEFORE EACH USE THE OPERATOR MUST:
- Check on the pressure gauge of the filter unit that there is a pressure of at least 8 bar.
- Check that the machine has been connected to the electrical mains correctly.
- Make sure that there is no-one and nothing in the tyre changer's working area which may interfere with operations and create a hazard.
- Comply with workplace safety regulations.
- Wear suitable clothing, using gloves, safety goggles and safety footwear.
Ornamental chains, bracelets and loose clothing may create a hazard for the operator.
Power up the machine by turning the master switch (21, fig. G/11) to I (ON).
The light on the control console (5, Fig. G/4) must come on.
IDENTIFYING AND CHECKING THE RIM AND TYRE
Before performing any operation on a wheel, it is ESSENTIAL to identify the measurements of the tyre and rim, and check that neither part
is damaged.
WARNING: These checks are very important to avoid the risk that the tyre may burst during the bead insertion
and inflation stage!
Rims have their nominal diameter, width, Hump number, etc. data stamped
on their surfaces.
E.g. a marking 6Jx14H2
1 - 6
Indicates the nominal width of the rim
2 - J
Indicates the flange size
3- 14 Indicates the nominal diameter of the rim
4 - H2 Indicates a double hump
Tyres are marked with a large amount of information, including dimensions,
type, maximum speed, etc.
E.g. in a tyre marked 195/65 R 15 91 H TL
1 - 195 Indicates the width of the tyre, i.e. the distance between the sidewalls in
millimetres.
2 - 65 States the ratio (as a percentage) between the height and width of the
cross-section.
3 - R
stands for radial.
4 - 15 states the keying diameter (rim diameter) in inches.
5 - 91 indicates the maximum load per wheel;
6 - H
is the maximum speed code (H: 210 km/h).
