Product details

• The purpose of the module is to activate the pumps and valves in
– a maximum of 3 unmixed heating circuits
-or-
– a maximum of 2 unmixed heating circuits and a cylinder charging
circuit
-or-
– Systems with 2-port valve (S-schematic,  Fig. 22, page 60,
in UK only)
-or-
– Systems with mid-position valve (Y-schematic,  Fig 23,
page 61, in UK only)
• The module is used to record
– The temperature of the DHW cylinder
– The temperature at a low loss header (optional)
– Control signals (e.g. from EMS 2/EMS plus controllers, On/Off
controllers, thermostats)
• Anti-seizing protection:
– The connected pump is monitored and exercised for a short while
after 24 hours of downtime. This prevents the pump from seizing.
Irrespective of the number of other BUS participants, a maximum of
3 MZ 100 are permitted in one system depending on which user
interface is installed:
• max. 2 MZ 100 for 6 unmixed heating circuits in total
• max. one MZ 100 for 2 additional unmixed heating circuits and
one cylinder charging circuit
In the as-delivered state, coding switch I is set to position 0. The module
is only registered in the operator control unit if coding switch I is set to a
valid position for heating circuits or cylinder charging circuit.

Important notices on usage

WARNING: Risk of scalding!
▶ If DHW temperatures above 60 °C are set or thermal
disinfection is performed (temperature switch II
temporarily above 60 °C), a mixer must be installed.
NOTICE: Floor damage!
▶ An additional temperature sensor must be used if the
product is to be installed in a heating circuit with
underfloor heating.
The module communicates via an EMS 2/EMS plus interface with other
BUS participants that are compatible with the EMS 2/EMS plus.
• The functional scope depends on which user interface is installed,
e.g. BUS communication or I/O controllers. Detailed information
about user interfaces can be found in the catalogue and technical
guides and on the manufacturer's website.
• The installation space must be suitable for the IP rating stated in the
module specification.
