Profile with thermal isolation
At tention!
Neglecting to conduct the reworking can cause the product to malfunction: The components listed
below must be reworked with use of profiles with thermal isolation.
Aluminium as a stopping edge can destroy the components: Aluminium abrasion can destroy the lock
or striking plate.
Reworking profile slugs
When the door is closed, the latch and control latch must slide over a level surface (see "Self-locking",
page 42). with some door frames, such as those with thermal isolation, a profile slug (Fig. 15 –
which has a disruptive effect on the sliding surface may be present. This profile slug must be removed in
the area of the latch and the control latch. ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH recommends using a
sliding piece (Fig. 15 –
2
), to create a level sliding surface..
1
Cover the existing slots or other areas of unevenness.
2
Remove the slugs. The profile slug in the latch area must be removed down to the fastening surface.
3
Check whether the latch and auxiliary latch bolt can slide unimpeded over a level surface to the
locking position when the door is closed.
The profile slugs are smooth and the locking function is assured.
