MAIN BROOM REPLACEMENT
NOTE
Brooms of various hardness are available. This
procedure is applicable to all types of brooms.
CAUTION!
It is advisable to wear protective gloves when
replacing the side brooms because there can
be sharp debris between the bristles.
1.
Drive the machine on a level ground and engage the
parking brake.
2.
Turn the ignition switch (72) to "0".
3.
Loosen the knobs (A, Fig. 4) on both sides of the
machine.
4.
Move the height variation indicators (B) until the broom
is at the maximum distance from the ground. Tighten the
knobs (A).
5.
On the left side of the machine, loosen the knob (C).
6.
Remove the broom door (A, Fig. 5) by pulling it upwards
to disengage the fasteners (B).
7.
Remove the broom (C).
8.
Check that the drive hub (A, Fig. 6) is free from dirt or
foreign materials (ropes, rags, etc.) accidentally rolled
up.
9.
The new main broom must be installed with the bristles
rows (B) bent as shown in the fi gure.
10.
Install the new broom (C) and ensure that the mesh (D)
correctly fi ts into the relevant drive hub (A).
11.
Install the broom door (A, Fig. 5) by engaging the
fasteners (B).
12.
Tighten the knob (C, Fig. 4).
13.
Check and adjust the main broom height as shown in the
previous paragraph.
