Distilled water tank system
Description of the system
The system is equipped with a tank ( a ), placed under the hydrogroup, that
can contain distilled water.
The tank can hold 1.8 liters.
Distilled water is delivered to:
• the sprays of all the instruments found on the instrument and assistant's
board.
• The syringe on the assistant's board.
• to fi ll the cup
• water quick-connect coupler (if present)
Button(
) present on the assistant's board's control panel is used to shut
off the S.S.S.
NOTE: the relative icon ( A ) on the console display signals with the
S.S.S. system is turned on.
A disinfecting cycle for the instrument spray ducts can be carried out with
hydrogen peroxide with this system (see paragraph 7.2.1.).
Tank reserve level.
When the liquid in the tank falls below the reserve level, the relative icon (B)
appears on the instrument board's console.
NOTE: the icon ( B ) is black if the S.S.S. system is turned on while
it is red if the S.S.S. is turned off.
Filling the tank.
When the water level in the tank is low (about 500 cc), fi ll it as directed
below:
• Push lever ( b ) in the direction of "CLOSE AIR PRESSURE".
In this mode, the icon ( A ) appears in a different color on the display.
NOTE:
While performing this operation, the pressurized air in the tank is automati-
cally released outside and the relative icon ( C ) appears on the console.
• Turn the tank counter-clockwise ( a ) and remove it.
• Pour distilled water into the tank until the maximum level is reached.
ATTENTION!
Use only distilled water which 600 parts per million (ppm) of hydrogen
peroxide (20 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide in 1 liter of distilled water)
can be added to.
• Put the tank back in place turning it clockwise.
ATTENTION!
Assure the tank is fi rmly secured in place.
• Press the switch ( b ) again in direction "CLOSE AIR PRESSURE" to confi rm
the tank has been fi led
The icon ( A ) on the display goes back to its original color.
NOTE:
The tank will be pressurized only after an instrument has been extracted
or when water is delivered to the cup.
ATTENTION!
• Fill only with distilled water.
• When you are going to be away from the offi ce for an extended period
of time (holiday), always empty the hydrogen peroxide tank (a) before
leaving.
Cleaning the tank.
Only the tank should be cold disinfected on a regular basis (at least once
a month) using a peracetic acid based product proceeding as directed
below:
• take the tank out of the dental unit and empty it;
• prepare the solution of peracetic acid based product following the instruc-
tions provided by the manufacturer;
• fi ll the tank up to the rim with the peracetic acid based product;
• let the peracetic acid solution soak in the tank for the time stated by the
manufacturer.
• empty the peracetic acid solution from the tank;
• rinse the tank with distilled water;
• fi ll the tank with distilled water adding 600 pmm of hydrogen peroxide (20
ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide in one liter of distilled water),
• put the tank back in place in the dental unit.
