2. Checking the thread trimmer cam timing


Thread trimmer cam
Operation of steps 1) through 8) is the same as that of
"Checking the receding position of the moving knife". Per-

Then turn the handwheel ❼ in the normal direction of

10) Turn handwheel ❼ in the reverse direction J of rota-
tion of the sewing machine after the moving knife has
returned to the waiting position, and the handwheel
stops turning at a certain angle.
11) At this time, the thread trimmer cam timing is normal
if the height of the needle bar from the top surface of
the throat plate is 46.8 to 47.4 mm.
＊ The timing can be checked with ease when using the
gauge supplied with the machine as accessories.
When section K of the gauge enters between the
throat plate and the bottom end of the needle bar and
section L does not enter, the height of the needle

bar is within the range of 46.8 to 47.4 mm. Then the
thread trimmer cam timing is normal.
＊ When entering the gauge under the bottom end of the
needle bar, loosen setscrew  and remove presser
foot  . After the completion of the operation, return
presser foot  to the home position and securely
tighten setscrew  . (Tightening torque : 1.5 to 2
N·m)
12) When the height of the needle bar from the top sur-
face of the throat plate is not 46.8 to 47.4 mm, the
thread trimmer cam timing is not proper. Correct the
thread trimmer cam timing in accordance with the
Engineering Manual.

Be sure to turn OFF the power switch of
the sewing machine after the operation in
steps 4) through 10) has been completed.
