Troubleshooting

Malfunction Possible cause
MNS LED flashes green The device is running normally, is online,
and the connections are not established.
• The device passed the Dup_MAC_ID
test and is online, but the connections
to other nodes were not created.
• This device is not assigned to a master.
• Missing, incomplete, or incorrect
configuration
Status: The device is ready for operation
AND online, but not connected.
Or: The device is online AND must
be commissioned.
MNS LED illuminated An error that cannot be resolved has
red occurred in the device. It may need
to be replaced.
Failed communication device. The device
has detected an error that impairs
communication with the network
(e.g. doubled MAC ID or BUSOFF).
Status: Major error or severe connection
failure
MNS LED flashes red Recoverable error and/or at least one
I/O connection in waiting mode.
Status: Minor error and/or connection
waiting mode
Remedy
Check
• whether the connections to other
nodes have been created,
• whether a master is assigned
to the device,
• whether the device was correctly
configured.
• Check the device and exchange,
if necessary.
• Check communication.
• Check the addresses of all
participants.
• Check baud rates.
• Check whether the 24 V voltage is
being supplied by the fieldbus cable.
• Check switch settings.
• Check connection cables to all
participants.
