GATHERING FOOT
The Gathering Foot can form single rows of shirring quickly
and easily. You can also use this foot to gather one fabric
while simultaneously attaching it to another fabric which
To do shirring of a single layer of fabric:
1. Attach gathering foot and select straight stitch.
2. Place the fabric to be gathered underneath the gathering
foot.
3. Select a long stitch length,which produced more fullness,
and increase upper thread tension slightly.
To gather one fabric and stitch onto another fabric:
1. Attach gathering foot and select straight stitch.
2. Place the fabric to be gathered underneath the gathering
foot.

4. Lower the needle and sew a few stitches while holding the
thread ends taut.
5. As you sew, hold the upper fabric with your left hand and
the lower fabric with your right hand. Though they will feed
together through the machine, they will feed at different
rates.
ROLLED HEM FOOT
1. Select a soft, light to medium weight fabric.
2. For approximately 1 inch of the beginning of the fabric,
press a 1/8" hem, then turn fabric againand press. There
should now be a total of 1/4" of fabric turned.
3. Attach Rolled Hem Foot.
4. Select a Straight Stitch, medium length.
5. Stitch approximately 1/2" of the beginning of the folded
hem.
6. Leave the needle in fabric and lift presser foot.
7. Guide fabric into scroll of foot.
8. Lower foot and continue to sew, holding the thread tails
For an alternative look, try a zig-zag stitch. Test sew on
settings for the stitch.
