3.3 Serial interface mode

Press the SELECT key to scroll until the RS232 interface mode is set. The LED in front of the
DB9 connector will illuminate to indicate the serial interface mode. All ASCII printer with
serial interface can be used.

3.3.1 Connection to serial printer

Connect the serial printer to the DB9 IRiM connector using a straight cable.

Pin 2 is connected to Pin2 of the other DB9 connector
Pin 3 is connected to Pin3 of the other DB9 connector
GND (Pin 5 to Pin 5)

3.3.2 Interface parameter

Please set the same baud rate on the photometer (see device manual), the IRiM (see chapter
3.3.3) and the serial printer (see manual).

3.3.3 Data transmission

Keep the IRiM and the transmitting instrument (e.g. Photometer) in line of sight (face to face).
Start print command at the transmitting instrument. The data will be sent to the IRiM and
will be printed on the serial printer.
Note: If the serial printer is not connected, any data transmitted will be lost.
