differential and about 2.5 kg for the narrow differential.
To drain out the oil: plug n.1 fig.8, located on the bottom rear section of the axle.
Also loosen plugs n.2 on the two side final drives to facilitate oil draining.
To fill with oil: through plug n.3 fig.17.
The arrow in fig.17 shows the driving direction.
6.4 THE RADIATOR
See n.1 fig.14
Keeps the radiator clean by blowing compressed in the opposite direction of the
air current generated by the fan:
with a suction fan, blow from the inside towards the outside; with a blower fan,
from the front towards the engine.
Every 8-10 hours check the level of the coolant in the expansion tank n.2 fig.14.
The correct level is at the halfway mark of the reservoir when the engine is cold.
It is advisable to use FIAT PARAFLU 11 coolant.
Change the coolant every 2 years. Amount needed: 6-8 liters depending on the
model.
To drain the coolant: open the plug on the bottom right of the radiator.
Add coolant: in reservoir n.2 fig. 14.
Do not open the expansion reservoir when the engine is hot since
the coolant is under pressure and at a very high temperature. You
run the risk of severe burns.
6.5 AIR FILTER
The air filter (n.2 fig.13 - for models 37-40-1046 See fig.20) should be cleaned
when the filter clogged warning light n.7 fig.2 (for models 37-40-1046 See
fig.19) comes on. Machine fitted with a clog detector on the suction manifold,
cleaning should also be done when the detector is almost completely red.
Clean the filter by blowing compressed air from the inside towards the outside.
Change the cartridge as needed or after max. 300 hours.
With tractors fitted with an oil filled filter (fig.21) and without a warning light on
the dashboard, clean the filter every 50 hours. Remove the cartridge, wash it
with fuel oil and dry with compressed air. Fill the filter cup with new oil which
should be the same type as that used for the engine.
